In order to test the impact of solar cells on reducing the power consumption, CIVIQ has installed solar panels on 10 Link devices in the Bronx. Ultimately, these panels will work to extend the availability of 911 services through the device during power outages. The impact on power consumption will be monitored over the next 12 months.
