 CIVIQ adds solar panels to Links
In order to test the impact of solar cells on reducing the power consumption, CIVIQ has installed solar panels on 10 Link devices in the Bronx. Ultimately, these panels will work to extend the availability of 911 services through the device during power outages. The impact on power consumption will be monitored over the next 12 months.

LinkNYC hits London as LinkUK
The successful template of LinkNYC is being rolled out in the UK in 2017. “We’re evolving the phone box to make it relevant in the 21st century by offering people ultrafast Wi-Fi and a range of digital and information services entirely for free. London is one of the greatest cities in the world and it’s entirely fitting that it becomes the first UK city to benefit from the Links,” said Gerry McQuade, CEO, BT Wholesale and Ventures.
